About Smoking -Irene

By Irene
Today I read the news about smoking. In my opinion, smoking is a bad habit. Everyone especially the young people should strive to get rid of it. The non-smokers should also take up fight for cleaner air, which may be a forceful push for the smokers to break away from smoking.
Nowadays, there has been a widespread concern among people over smoking. It is reported that the number of people who hold the habit keeps in creasing. Even worse, more and more teenagers begin to take up the habit.
My summarizes smoking is a harmful to health. Smoking is bad for skin. Because smoking restricts blood vessels, it can prevent oxygen and nutrients from getting to the skin. Smoking is bad for breath. All those cigarettes leave smokers with a condition called halitosis, or persistent bad breath.
However, it is known that smoking is harmful to both the smokers and people around them. To begin with, scientific research shows that smoking can lead to lung cancer, heart attack and other diseases. So, when the smokers puff at their cigarettes, they may have much greater chance of losing their health. More smoking is also a threat to public health, especially to women and children. Those non-smokers are liable to become the victims of smoking and may develop the same diseases as the smokers do.
Smoking is also expensive. Not only does smoking damage health, it costs an arm a leg. Depending on where you live, smoking a pack of cigarettes a day can cost about $1,800 dollars a year. That adds up. It is money you could save or spend on something for yourself.
In my school, no smoking and no near the building smoking. That is helpful the student. Let us stop smoking it, we will have a better future.
